Under Distinctly Christmas Cookies
A new twist on oatmeal cookies.

Ingredients
1/2 C. butter, softened
3/4 C. packed brown sugar
1 Tbs. vanilla extract
1 Tbs. flavored coffee creamer (vanilla or hazlenut taste good)
1 egg
1 1/4 C. unbleached all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 C. rolled oats
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in vanilla, creamer, and egg. Add flour and baking soda. Stir in oatmeal and chocolate chips. Chill dough for at least an hour. Drop by rounded tablespoons on a nonstick cookie sheet. Bake at 350 dgrees for 10-12 minutes.

Ingredients
2/3 C. shortening
2/3 C. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 small box instant banana pudding
2 1/2 C. all-purpose flour, divided
Directions
Cream the shortening and the sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla extract, baking powder and salt. Add the dry instant banana pudding powder. Mix in 2 C. of the flour; add the remaining 1/2 C. only if needed. Cover dough and chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Under Distinctly Christmas Cookies+ Nutty Cookies
These cookies are very moist and sweet – great if you like your cookies chewy.

Ingredients
1 C. butter, softened
2/3 C. packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 C. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 C. pecan halves
Directions
In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and egg. Mix until well blended. Slowly add flour and salt and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll one inch pieces of dough into balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Flatten balls with the bottom of a glass dipped in flour. Press a pecan into top of dough. Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly colored.

1/2 C. Crisco Shortening

1 C. sour cream
1/2 C. Smucker’s Sweet Orange Marmalade
4 C. Pillsbury Best All-Purpose or Unbleached Flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Frosting:
3 C. powdered sugar
1/2 C. butter or margarine (at room temperature)
1/4 C. Smucker’s Sweet Orange Marmalade orange juice (to thin frosting if necessary)

Under Chocolate Cookies
Walnuts, raisins and chocolate chunks fill these cookies with sweetness and crunchiness – the perfect combination.

Ingredients
10 Tbs. plus 2 tsp. butter or margarine (not spread) at room temperature
2/3 C. granulated sugar
1/3 C. packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 C. all purpose flour
1 C. semisweet chocolate chunks
1 C. walnuts, chopped
1/2 C. golden raisins
Directions
Heat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugars, egg and vanilla with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. With mixer on low speed, beat in flour. Stir in chocolate chunks, walnuts and raisins. Drop heaping tablespoonfuls dough 2 1/2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet(s). Bake 17 minutes or until tops look dry. Cool on sheet on wire rack 5 minutes. Remove with spatula to wire rack to cool.

Ingredients
1 C. butter
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 C. flour
2 1/2 C. Quaker Oats powdered in blender
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
4 oz. Hershey Bar, melted
1 1/2 C. chopped nuts
1 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
Directions
Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. On separate bowl, mix flour, oats, salt and baking powder. Mix creamed and dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips, melted chocolate and nuts. Place dough golf ball size or smaller on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.

3 egg whites
2/3 C. sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 Tbs. baking cocoa powder
44 chocolate morsels (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Line cookie sheets with wax paper. Beat egg whites, cocoa powder, and cream of tartar until mixture begins to get fluffy. Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until peaks are stiff (about 8-10 minutes).

Add Werther’s candies to this regular butter cookie recipe for a toffee-like crunch.

Ingredients
1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 C. butter
3/4 C. light brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
20-30 crushed Werther’s Original Hard Candies (grind in food processor, coffee grinder or blender)
Directions
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl, cream butter, then add egg and brown sugar. Stir in dry ingredients and blend until mixed. Blend in crushed Werther’s Original Candy. Drop teaspoonfuls of mixture 2 inches apart onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Approximately 12-15 minutes. Remove parchment paper with cookies and cool for 15 minutes.

Ingredients
2 3/4 C. flour
2 Tbs. cream of tartar
1 C. butter
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
Directions
Beat until light and creamy. Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Chill 1-2 hours. Roll tsp. of dough into balls; roll in a mixture of 2 Tbs. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes in 400 degree oven.

2 6 oz. pkg. chocolate bits
3 Tbs. butter, softened
3/4 C. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbs. milk
1/2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 C. chopped walnuts
Directions
Melt 1 pkg. chocolate bits. Stir together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla; beat with spoon until smooth. Stir in melted chocolate bits and milk, then flour and baking powder Stir in 2nd pkg. of chocolate bits (not melted) and nuts. Drop by tsp. on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool slightly.
