These traditional Greek cookies are really called Koulourakia! Dip them in your coffee in the morning.

Ingredients
* 1 C. corn oil
* 1 C. chopped pecans
* 3 Tbs. baking powder
* 6 C. flour
* 6 eggs
* 2 C. sugar
* 1 cordial glass whiskey
* granulated sugar
* cinnamon
Directions
Beat corn oil and sugar together for about 20 minutes. Add eggs and continue beating. Add nuts. Sift flour and baking powder together, then add to corn oil, sugar and egg mixture. Add whiskey.

You can use any type of colored sugar to decorate these for any holiday.

Ingredients
* 1 C. butter at room temperature
* 1 C. shortening
* 1 C. sugar
* 1 C. powdered sugar
* 2 eggs
* 2 tsp. vanilla
* 1 tsp. salt
* 1 tsp. cream of tartar
* 1 tsp. baking soda
* colored sugar for decoration
Directions
Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop 1 tsp. of dough on an ungreased cookies sheet per cookie. Dip the bottom of flat bottomed glass in the colored sugar and flatted each cookie. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes.

Ingredients
3 limes
1/2 C. butter or margarine, softened
3/4 C. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 C. all-purpose flour
About 1/2 C. powdered sugar
Directions
Grate 1 tsp. peel and squeeze 3 Tbs. juice from limes. In medium bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Reduce speed to low; beat in egg and lime peel and juice until blended. Beat in flour until combined. Divide dough in half. On separate sheets of wax paper, shape each half into a 6×2 1/2×1 1/2-inch brick. Wrap each brick in wax paper and freeze 3 hours, or up to 1 month.

Ingredients
1 pouch Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
1/3 C. butter or margarine, melted
2 Tbs. Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1 egg
1 container Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting
Betty Crocker® decorating icing (assorted colors, as desired)
Betty Crocker® blue, green and yellow decorating sugars
Betty Crocker® red cinnamon decors
Directions
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In medium bowl, stir cookie mix, melted butter, flour and egg until soft dough forms. Roll dough on floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until light golden brown around edges. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet; cool completely. Spread frosting on cooled cookies. Decorate as desired with remaining ingredients.

This dough is easy to work with - it has no baking powder - so the cookies bake smooth and flat - without any small bumps. It makes decorating easier. This is a recipe from my late mother. Every year she made dozens of cookies at Christmas time to share with family and friends. I’ve carried on her tradition.

Ingredients
1 C. butter, softened
1 C. vegetable oil
1 C. sugar
1 C. confectioner’s sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 3.4 oz. pkg. instant lemon pudding mix or instant pudding mix of your choice
4 C. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, oil and sugars. Beat in eggs, vanilla and dry pudding mix. Combine the flour, cream of tartar and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture. Drop by tablespoonful 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15-minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks.

Ingredients
1 C. vegetable shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 C sugar
3 C. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 C. sour milk, buttermilk or sour cream
Cinnamon and sugar
Directions
Cream together vegetable shortening, eggs and sugar. Sift flour, then measure. Sift flour again with baking powder, salt, baking soda and nutmeg. Add dry ingredients and sour milk, buttermilk, or sour cream to the creamed mixture. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake 11 minutes at 400 degrees. Do not chill dough.

Ingredients
1 C. butter or margarine
1/2 C. sugar, 3 oz. cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 C. flour, colored sugar
Directions
Cream butter, sugar and cream cheese. Add vanilla and flour. Form dough into a long roll and coat with colored sugar. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill until firm. Cut in slices about 1/4″ thick and bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes.

1/3 C. nuts
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
3 C. oatmeal
3 C. cornflakes
1 C. coconut
Directions
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir in oatmeal, corn flakes, coconut and nuts. Drop by tablespoonful on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
