Old Fashioned Sour Cream Cookies Recipe

This moist and simple cookie features a little lemon peel and a cinnamon-sugar topping.

Ingredients
3 C. flour
1 C. sour cream
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla OR 2 tsp grated.
1/2 tsp. baking soda
lemon peel
1/2 tsp. salt
1 C. softened butter
Topping:
1 1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions
In large bowl, beat butter, eggs and 1 1/2 C. sugar until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and vanilla, blending until smooth. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients. Cover and refrigerate one hour. Heat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease cookie pans. Drop batter by slightly rounded teaspoonful, 2 inches apart. Sprinkle with the topping. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
