Koulouria (Greek Cookies) Recipe

Ingredients

* 2 sticks sweet butter
* 2 C. sugar
* 3 egg yolks
* 3 whole eggs
* 1 C. warm milk
* 4 tsp. baking powder
* 2 tsp. vanilla
* flour

Directions

Melt butter. Place baking powder in flour. Beat butter, sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla. Combine all ingredients with flour. Form soft dough and shape into whatever shapes you want.  Bake.

These traditional Greek cookies are really called Koulourakia! Dip them in your coffee in the morning.

Ingredients

* 1 C. corn oil
* 1 C. chopped pecans
* 3 Tbs. baking powder
* 6 C. flour
* 6 eggs
* 2 C. sugar
* 1 cordial glass whiskey
* granulated sugar
* cinnamon

Directions

Beat corn oil and sugar together for about 20 minutes. Add eggs and continue beating. Add nuts. Sift flour and baking powder together, then add to corn oil, sugar and egg mixture. Add whiskey.

Anise Slices Recipe

Ingredients

    * 7 C. all-purpose flour
    * 7 tsp. baking powder
    * 2 C. sugar
    * 2 C. vegetable oil
    * 7 eggs
    * 1/2 tsp. salt
    * 1 tsp. anise extract or 1/4 C. ouzo
    * sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

Sift flour and baking powder in bowl. Set aside. Combine sugar, oil, eggs, salt and extract in large electric mixer bowl. Beat at high speed 10 minutes or until light and creamy. Remove bowl from mixer. Gradually add the sifted flour, folding with spatula until flour is blended into a soft dough. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour or overnight.
